Come play with fire!

Fire has always had an elusive allure. Now come and learn how to play with it, and make something beautiful in the process!

Have you ever wanted to know how to swing a hammer, or know someone who would love to try their hand at blacksmithing?

The London Blacksmith offers courses that provide that opportunity at flexible times in a relaxed environment, allowing attendees to not only learn the basics of blacksmithing, but to also have a day to remember, with souvenirs to take home and keep.

Who can do it?

Either an individual or two people can participate in the course. Anyone over 18 can apply to a course. The opportunity is available for teenagers under 18, who can apply, but additional charges will apply for insurance reasons, and a guardian will be required to attend alongside. They can either take part too, or simply relax and observe.

Physical restrictions: Blacksmithing is a physically demanding job. Every applicant will have to take into consideration that they will be on their feet for the whole day, working with metal and swinging a hefty hammer for the majority of their time.

Applicants with medical conditions such as bad backs, heart conditions or joint pain are strongly advised not to participate.

What do you need?

All safety equipment, tools and materials will be provided.

Refreshments such as tea, and coffee will be provided, but bringing a packed lunch is advised.

When working in a workshop environment, clothing is very important. The best is denim jeans, a cotton t shirt or top, and strong sturdy shoes. Walking boots are preferable if possible. It’s worth mentioning as well that long hair will need to be tied back at all times.

When can i do it?

The Courses are available 7 days a week. If you are wanting to be paired up with another enthusiast please say, and all efforts will be made to accommodate your request.

What do we make?

The most common items to make in the full day course are a coat hook and a fire poker. These items are fantastic for first timers as they cover a lot of basic skills and are great pieces to show off.

If you have a personal project you would like to do yourself then please say in the contact section and between Will and yourself we can come to an arrangement on design and price.
